Creative Juices Flowing

In addition to writing this daily blog and posting by email a Daily Mockingbird Song to anyone who would like one (If you would just email you request with your email address to dwhite6359@gmail.com) I am also a quite prolific writer of erotic rhyming poetry. Shame on you, I hear some of you whispering, not at all. Nothing gets my creative juices flowing so much as sexy rhymes. And if that allusion went over your head or sickened you, shame on you.

Many of the great artists past and present have had very strong and varied appetites. Now, I am not saying that I am a great artist or at least not a well known as one yet, but I certainly do share that proclivity with them. Not to worry, unlike Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, and the list would be too exhausting and exhaustive to enumerate the ones we know I have not nor have any plans of forcing my opinions, myself, my songs or my sexy poetry on anyone.

Whatever possessed you to start down this road then, Dave? Just this, I believe that creative juices flow in all of us even those who try to act so prim and proper and that we all need to find the right channels to allow them flow through and enhance our art and our act. To borrow and expand on a line from a great movie I saw, “We all have an act, and we all have art to share.” For every starving artist there are many more starving for the art only you and I can supply.

So whatever gets your juices flowing put them to work to begin a masterpiece today. It may not ever hang in a museum, receive a Pulitzer, or have you declared poet laureate, whatever, but, it will hang in someone’s heart to be treasured always. That is real art, a class act, and the lasting fame we all aspire to anyway.
