The Limitless One
There have been several movies in the last several years that address our limitlessness as a theme, the movies “Limitless” and “Lucy” come to mind. In both of these movies and countless more the cinematographers explore the possibilities of what might happen if chemically we unlocked the potential of the human brain. I believe our tremendous potential is not limited to our very remarkable brain nor to the indomitable spirit the resides in mankind (that means womankind too for we are indeed one.) And that brings me to my recurring point The One behind it all, inside and outside of it all, containing and being contained in and by it all – Oneness Himself/Herself, The Universe, more widely know as God Almighty, the Limitless One.
We are Limitless not in ourself but because we are a part, a very beloved and important part of the Limitless One. I believe our understanding is incomplete but only because we look for the answers outside ourselves. Philosophy, psychiatry, politics, none of them), not even science can answer the two most important questions – “Who am I?” and “Whose am I?” But as sure as every product ever made by man has an owner and operators manual, these days you may need to access that online, within everyone of us is all the information and are all the answers and instructions we will ever need and as well the sure and certain knowledge of Who and Whose we are. Please do not take my word for it. That is one of the root causes of why there are so many misunderstandings and so much confusion in the world today – working with “second hand” information. Even in real journalism, not “fake news” reliable sources are often quoted but they can be miss quoted, their words misconstrued or mistaken. But we can go straight to the Source for there resides in every one of us a direct link to Cosmic Conciousness. My religious friends do not care for my non mainstream, non traditional names for God but that is okay, I don’t care for their judging, condemning and thinking they have a special corner on the truth or God either. But I believe we are all loved in spite of our opinions, right or wrong.
My mother and many of your mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, aunts and uncles have taken their own lives. I cannot recall the number of how many U.S. military people commit suicide everyday, police men and women, priests, psychiatrists – no profession or walk of life is immune. And add to that figure the far larger number of people who are committing slow suicide with drugs and other destructive habits and life choices. These people could not do that if they knew Who and Whose they are. Limitlessness by its very nature cannot set limits on its own life nor can it accept those arbitrary limits others would try to impose. Three score and ten, ridiculous, or even one hundred and fifteen, silly Dave. I have a sneaking feeling like the song I posted on my Daily Mockingbird Song email on December 22 that “I’ve been alive forever and I wrote the very first song.” It is in the limitlessness of our capacity to love that we see most clearly Who and Whose we truly are. By all means quit placing limits on God, yourself, and others and just plan on living forever. Try to have some fun while you are doing it, eh.
