Blog 244 – 03.07.2016

When I was a young boy I was so timid and shy that I used to hide in my room when anyone came to visit even aunts, uncles, and cousins. I mirrored my own mother’s introverted life. She was the sun and the moon, my world. Everything revolved around her and starting public school was a traumatic event in my young life. I had no knowledge of ever being out of ear shot of my mother till that point in my life and I did not like it one bit. I say all that to say that as young boy as most young boys I believed my mother was my most devoted fan.

At Sunday School and earlier even than that on Sunday morning TV shows such as Davey and Goliath I learned that Jesus or God was my most devoted fan. After about 38 years of considering myself a Christian I rejected it all and tried very hard to be an Atheist for almost twenty years.

About eight years ago I saw an interesting movie called The Secret and wanted to know more about this new philosophy that turns out not to be so new at all. I read every thing I could find and came across a thirty five page paper online called Beyond The Secret. The Quantum Physicist that wrote the paper disarmed me completely early on by saying that for the Law of Attraction, the secret behind the secret, to work for you that you had to believe in a higher Power. But he went on to say if that was a problem for you to just think of the higher power as just your higher best self. He had me then and everything that seemed so confusing all my life began to make sense.

I discovered who the little man behind the curtain was. It was me all along and I did not have to be my own worst enemy but I could be my Best Friend, my own True Love, and my Most Devoted Fan. I have come to believe that Jesus two commandments that fulfill and supersede all others namely: “To love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and to love your neighbor as you love yourself.” Is really Easy because The Secret is God is One. He is us and we are Him. Therefore loving God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength is loving yourself, is loving your neighbor as yourself.
Whenever you love anyone or anything it is an act of admitting Who and Whose you truly are for God is Love and so am I, so are you, so is Everything. One means One anything else is an illusion or a misunderstanding. The Big Bang Theory states that all matter expanded rapidly outward from a single small, relatively, dense  singularity. If God is all there is however big the Universe expands it will still be God and still be One. Oh, by the way, I love the Big Bang Theory TV show. Sheldon and the gang are always good for a chuckle. I am a most devoted fan.
