Blog 142 – 10.19.15

Today instead of laying a bunch of Bible verses on you I will quote an old country song instead. The lyrics are so similar to the words of Jesus that many of you who know them will recognize them right away. I have a problem with Christianity but not with the teachings of Jesus. I have a suspicion that his teachings were twisted somewhat and to control people for power or financial gain as has been the case of many spiritual and thought leaders. As an example the intellectual comedian, George Carlin. was and is misquoted often by people trying to lend credence to their point of view by attaching his name to their views. I do not believe Jesus would be at all pleased with most of what people attribute to him.

For instance Jesus clearly taught that the way we treat the brothers we think to be the least is the way we treat him or God. The very best organized religions, I think, are those who set examples of doing for the poor, the down and out, the addicted, the losers if you will. If we knew the truth that each and all of us are just God or Jesus in disguise we’d all be kinder to our brothers and sisters.

I will quote that country song now:

The order knock, seek, ask is reversed from the Ask, Seek, Knock of the Bible verse but the message is still the same, “I am yours for the asking.” That is what every lover wants to hear their beloved say and the Lover of our souls, the Universe has written it into the very DNA of each of us. Sex, the wonderful Urge to Merge is the physical manifestation of a deeper spiritual or even scientific principle the unifying theory of everything – Oneness. And the Universe sings it in the music of the spheres, atoms to constellations.
