Ten and a Half Years and Still At It

My commitment to this daily blog http://www.theencouragingword.com has produced three thousand six hundred and thirty six blogs to date. I still smile when I think of an early follower commenting that I was a prolific writer. Ha! I always was, I just did not have a venue till I created one of my own.

In another life I was perhaps a newspaper reporter like Ernest Hemingway who went on to write best selling novels that are still read today. Or perhaps I will try that again in a future incarnation. I intend to stay at it till I reach my goal of ten thousand blogs. My original goal was ten thousand followers, yet I decided that a truly prolific writer should be more concerned about being a better writer than how many readers he/or she has following his writing.

When I find a good writer, I try to find and read everything of theirs in print and I hope to stay at it till one day some reader out there recognizes that I am such a writer and wants to read everything that I have ever written. Noble goal? Perhaps not, but it is one of the reasons that I stay at it trying to think if something entertaining, enlightening, and encouraging to put out there.

Well, there you go. That’s it and that’s all for today. It is said that if you would be good at anything you need to do it ten thousand times, be it rich man, poor man, beggar man, thief, doctor, lawyer, or Indian Chief (No disrespect intended to the First People nor their leaders.). And so I am still at it because I want to be remembered this go round as a writer.
