A Truly Magical Place
My wife and I both truly look forward to our mid-week adventures in the East Texas piney woods. This rare photo of a buck visiting our camper site was caught a few morning ago while we were at our Houston home. When we are there in Bon Wier Tuesday through Thursday staying the two nights, we often go outside and look at the stars. The critters are too wise or too shy to come this close while we are there. They need not fear the two of us for we mean them no harm, but are truly thrilled to get to share The Hundred Acre Wood with them.
Last year I bought a hunting/ and fishing license just in case some game warden showed up while I was target shooting or drowning worms. I purchased the first half of the thirty-one acres that currently in my name in early November last year and am hoping to close soon on another almost five acre home site adjacent to my part of my son Jay’s Hundred Acre Wood dream coming true. After this addition we will only be a few acres short and we are already planning to secure some additional acreage behind the home site that we are about to close on.
We already in our minds are planing to develop the ten or so acres into an abbreviated version of the hundred acre horse farm that I had envisioned owning in Wyoming while working there some thirteen years ago.
My friend Mike Dooley says, “Thoughts become things. Choose the good ones.” I believe that. I also believe that this life is but a dream that we and the Universe co-create together. The words of the core thought of my daily mantra are:
“I am so glad and grateful that everything that I could ever want or need is already mine and coming to me at just the right time and in just the right way from my loving and infinite source.”
The almost midnight visitor to our camper site, pictured, knows that he is provided for as do the birds of the air, the fishes in the water, and all creatures great and small with the exception of so many two legged ones that are too busy worrying about getting some advantage over their brothers that the have missed the magical moments that make this dream worth living.
Your friend and fellow traveler,
