Stars and the Crescent Moon
Long before the crescent moon and star became the symbol of the Islamic faith men and women saw another meaning in the stars and crescent moon together:

Two great political ideas seem to be at odds and constantly at war in this country and around the world. The Dualism of the Western world has created this myth, this civil war between brothers, between the constant (Conservative) and the changing (Progressive) points of you
One has only to look a the night sky with both the crescent moon and the stars to remember that there is a balance between these two in the world. Either/or is a false choice when it is Both. The wonderful line from What A Wonderful World comes to mind again: “The bright blessed day and the dark sacred night.” Dualism teaches The Great Divine while two of the greatest of the three western religions Judaism and Islam sound the same theme: “The Lord God Is One.” Christianity in its early stages sounded the same theme till The Roman Emperors co-opted it to help solidify their hold over the empire. The God who was once One became Three and a war in heaven was invented to support the false narrative of good versus evil, light versus darkness, constance versus change.
I believe that “snake in the grass” or “serpent in the garden” if you prefer is as mythical as the story itself of the first man and woman being cast out of the garden. The false god, ego, they/we created ourselves so that we might have a choice when there has never been a choice but God, and good. Of the whole creation the Creator said “It is good.” And for all the appearance of changes in the moon’s cycles through the night sky it too is as constant and changing as the stars. God is One and God is all in all. That in my humble opinion, friends, is both Who and Whose we are, “the bright blessed day and the dark sacred night.”
Enjoy the view as Emily, the little girl who sang her song to anyone who comes along, sings for us. “I see the moon and the moon sees me. God bless the moon and God bless me.”
