“I Am So Glad and Grateful”
Today’s title comes from some words that came to me out of the blue over seventeen years ago which have become the center piece of my ever evolving and growing daily mantra (self talk.)
“I am so glad and grateful that everything that I could ever want or need is already mine and coming to me at just the right time and I just the right way from my loving and infinite source.”
Now that is a mouth full, a mind full, a heart full and better words to live by that all that “trash talk” that our old nemesis ego would have us chew on from daylight to dark and even have nightmares about. How he/she loves to play and replay those old records that we should have broken the first time we heard them:
“You’re never going to amount to anything.
You’re not good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, talented enough, brave enough..”
Enough already and sadly if we listen long enough we start to believe his/her lies and think nobody loves us when that is not now, never has been, and could never ever be true, for we were born into a family where the family business is Loving. Love is who we are, why we are, and what we are all about.
We should therefore, henceforth, and forever more be glad and grateful for this unspeakable gift of love and life. In the last twenty-four hours one of my sweetest dreams has come true. My beloved, my bride, the great love of my life and I drove the one hundred and sixty miles from Houston Texas to Bon Wier, Texas (the shortest route per Google Maps takes two hours and thirty-three minutes but we opted for the longer scenic route that takes two hours and fifty minutes.) We even spent the night together in our Little House on Wheels parked in the Hundred Acre Wood.
What do you say to that? I say, (to quote a couple of favorite lines from Gomer Pyle and Minnie Pearl, “Surprise, surprise, surprise!” and “I’m so proud to be here!” In my own words and yours too, I hope,
“I am so glad and grateful.”
