An Encouraging Word

The story goes that there are two wolves: One that wants to devour us and one that wants to be our protector and friend. The question the story asks is: “Which wolf grows?” And the answer is: “The one we feed!”

There are two types of words that come to us: One that discourages and disheartens us and one that encourages and lifts us up. The question is: “Which word comes to us, stays with us, and affects us the most?” The answer to that question is: “The word that we listen to and dwell upon!”

The primary goal of this blog is to share the encouraging word that comes to me with you, my friends. I promised when I began this blog over ten years ago to make this a safe space, a special place “Where often is heard an encouraging word and the skies are not cloudy all day” to parody the Home On The Range cowboy song that I learned as a boy.

I am still trying to keep that promise every day as I attempt to feed the right wolf and to share the highest and best word that I can find – the encouraging word.
