Dancing and Singing in the Rain

Most classic movie fans are familiar with the scene from the nineteen fifties movie, Singing In The Rain, where Gene Kelly performs the title song (link below.) I love rain and I know that many do not, but see rain as just some sort of depressing interruption to blue and sunny skies. Rainy Days and Mondays to quote The Carpenters song always get them down. But not me, I am with Gene and the above picture quote. I am not waiting for the storm to pass. I love a good storm and to me it is just a good excuse to sing and to dance.

Our particular taste likes and dislikes are pretty ingrained from childhood and far be it from me to try to force my tastes on anyone else. Still take it from one who was a very finicky eater as a child and one who has heard the words, “Just taste it” all of my life, I have learned to appreciate so much more of life than I did as a child just by following that sage and wonderful advice.

Like Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans in the Harry Potter books and movies one may once in a while encounter a bean not to their taste, yet one is far more likely to discover a new taste sensation if they are open to trying something new and different.

It is said that throughout life some tastes do not change, still some definitely do. Rain for me is the former. As I write this it has just started to rain outside. La, La, La, La. Where did I leave my dancing shoes? Care to dance?
