The Details
The old saying goes, “The devil is in the details.” The literal meaning of Devil in the this sentence is probably more along the lines of difficultly rather than a reference to the one whom I believe to be our only true enemy, opposition, and obstacle to our health, happiness, and wholeness. He or she as the case maybe often goes by threatening names (i.e. Prince of Darkness)but is really better known as just puny little ego.
Ego or the Devil does indeed wish our plans and dreams to go wrong and is ever trying to get us to overlook an important detail or add some unnecessary detail that will cause us to fail in achieving our goals. The Word says, “Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart.”
In the nineteen fifties Greyhound Bus Company had a slogan, “Go Greyhound and live the driving to us.” You can trust your loving and infinite source with the details, with the dreams and with all the desires of your heart.
The Devil is not in the details. Love is in the details and like the captain of the A-Team whose catch phrase is, “I love it when a plan comes together” our higher best self loves working all things (every detail) to our advantage.
