The Secret That Is No Secret

The secret according to Rhonda Byrne, author of the book and the movie The Secret, to getting everything our heart desires and to living the abundant life and securing all those inalienable rights endowed by our creator, our higher Self, among which are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is simply to maintain an attitude of gratitude.

Before I ever saw the movie or read the book I received these words right out of the blue which became the central thought of my daily mantra which I continue to add to when a sentence or phrase really speaks to me. I have shared the inspiring and encouraging words many times and will continue to throughout the ten thousand blogs that I intend to publish before cashing in my chips. That is one of my favorite euphemisms for dying. Others are “saying adios amigos”, “kicking the bucket” and “exiting stage right.” Death is an appointing that we all must keep.

The secret to a good death is living a good life and a good life is found in the words that came to me:

“I am so glad and grateful that everything that I could ever want or need is already mine and coming to me at just the right time and in just the right way from my loving and infinite source.”

This is the secret that is no secret at all. We used to sing in church, “Count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.” The Word says, “We have not because we ask not. ASK is an acronym for another verse which is yet another version of the secret that is no secret.

A: Ask whatsoever you will, believing you shall receive.

S: Seek and you shall find.

K: Knock and it shall be opened unto you.

Give thanks, be grateful, it is like priming the pump.

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David James White
