Follow You Arrow
While walking in the woods on our property near Bon Wier, Texas last Thursday I discovered an arrow just inside our northern fence line. My son Jay says it is more property referred to as a “bolt” being the short variety arrow that is usually shot from a crossbow, the weapon of choice for many poachers.
Having seen the following poem, that I like many of you learned as a young person, on Facebook last night, I thought it might make a good launching pad for a few encouraging and perhaps cautionary words.

We are responsible for what we shoot out into the wide world and there are consequences to our actions some of which we may not know for a long time if ever. The Bible says, “Whatsoever a man sows that shall he also reap.” We often do not give enough thought to what happens when we miss the intended target, where the projectile ends up l, or how exactly the energy of intention dissipates. According to physics neither matter nor energy can be destroyed, they only change forms, as ice turns to water, and water to steam or vapor. They are all three H2O just expressed in three differed forms. Likewise the energy from the sun is stored up in plant and animal life where even centuries later buried deep beneath the earth it can be extracted to power industry, heat and cool our homes, get us from place to place and accomplish a thousand other things I have not the space or time to list.
Shooting an arrow, a bullet, a bolt, or a rocket into the air puts into play another of the laws of physics, “What goes up, must come down, and usually with the same amount speed and force.”
It behooves us to follow our arrow to targets intended and target unintended.
