All I Ask Of You
Why is it that we do not seem to get what we want? In the book of James the author seems to imply that we do not receive what we ask for because we ask amiss, that our motives are impure and must be correct to get what we ask for.

Why then the proverbial caution, “Be careful what you ask for.” I believe that God, the Universe. Is more willing to give us whatsoever we ask for than we are to simply ask. One of my favorite Bible promises is the Ask, Seek, Knock (A.S.K.) Verse:

Later the book of Mathew has Jesus saying that the only qualifier for getting what we ask for is believing (faith) and not the proper motive.

I have added my understanding of these promises to my daily mantra in the following form:
“I Ask whatsoever I will believing and I shall receive.
I Seek and I shall find.
I Knock and it shall be opened unto me.”
The literal meaning of the word Amen that is often said at the end of prayer requests is: “So be it, and it is so.” Instead of saying just, “So be it and it is so” or even “Amen” I usually say, “Ah man and Ah Woman, Yeah women and yeah men.”
I think today’s song (link attached below) really fits with today’s theme.
