A New Star and a New Love
A new star and a new love does not mean that we worship the older star or adore the older love less. More often it means that our hearts have enlarged to have a greater capacity to worship, to adore, and to love. This is definitely the case regarding the new star and new love in my life – Emma Grace White.

I sent these two pictures of the large frame at the head of my bed to several people yesterday in a text with this note:
“Look who has upstaged Marilyn Monroe – the incomparable Emma Grace White.”
Marilyn Monroe will always be a star shining in my heaven and a special love, and yet my granddaughter, Emma Grace, has enlarged my heart to make room for a new star and a new love in my life. Rest assured if Emma has a new baby brother, a new baby sister, one of each, or two of one or the other in the near future that my heart will grow enough so that there will be plenty of room for those additional objects of worship and affection.
I do not believe in a jealous god who will have no other gods before him, but as I wrote yesterday the only God that I believe in is a God who is all in all, a God who is first and foremost a God of Love.

The above slogan is indeed familiar to many Texans, but I would like to paraphrase it today and ask: “How long has it been since you had a new star, a new love in your life? Well, that’s too long!”
Isn’t that right, Emma Grace?
Your friend and fellow traveler, (also friend and forever fan of Linda Lee Stokes (my wife), Marilyn Monroe, Brigitte Bardot, Elizabeth Taylor, and the list goes on and on…with the recent addition of my granddaughter Emma Grace White)
