“A Thousand Points of Light”
In his January 1989 Inaugural address President George H.W. Bush spoke of volunteerism as “a thousand points of light.” On my early morning bike ride this Christmas Eve Eve I rode out of my way to takes some pictures with my iPhone from several angles of a tree decorated with a thousand points of light.
I am reminded of the theme song of The Christopher Hour, “If everyone lit just one little candle, what a bright world this would be.”
Jesus purportedly said, “I am the light of the world.” “You are the light of the world.” “And let your light so shine before men that they will see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven.”
