What Is Your Gift?
The saying above is usually attributed to Pablo Picasso, yet the person who originally coined the phrase is actually unknown. During this special gift giving season we place much emphasis on giving the perfect gift. The Little Drummer Boy and the Twelve Days of Christmas have been played so often by now that even children new to Christmas have figured out the words just like my granddaughter, Emma Grace, knows what Santa Claus says:
What is your gift? It is unique and one that no one else can supply. Ho, Ho, Ho and an extra Ho for good measure.
Next Wednesday families will gather to share a Christmas feast and their gifts with one another. Your highest and best gift cannot be boxed and wrapped. It is you and your love. And in the words of today’s song, “Thank you, for the gift!”
Your friend and fellow traveler,
David White
