Serenity, Courage, Wisdom, and the F Word
I believe that words are important and today I would like to share three very encouraging words, and one often misunderstood and maligned word.
The dictionary defines serenity as:

The young people had a word some years back where they mixed two expressions for calm down. The two things they joined were “chill” and “relax.” What they came up with was “Chillax.” That is what serenity means – to be cool and calm no matter the pressure, the heat, or the storm we find ourselves in.
The second word courage is defined:

Confidence that we have the resources, the reserves to face any problem, difficulty, or danger is what fosters courage. Being tapped-in to our loving and infinite source helps us to be confident and to be able to sing with the Psalmist David, “Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.”
Wisdom is defined as:

Wisdom is more than just knowledge. It is knowledge coupled with insight as to the right course of action. Like faith, knowledge without the correct actions is dead or powerless to do us or anyone else much good.
I ordered the pictured pocket talisman above to carry in my pants pocket along with my wallet, keys, and a heart shaped medallion that reads on one side “Thank you for this day, Spirit” and on the other, “I am holy, I am whole.” The Serenity Prayer on the new pocket talisman is a favorite of those dealing with addiction and we, all of us, battle some form of addictive behavior. One of the worst addictive behaviors is listening to that lying ego that is always accusing, telling us to think the worst of others and ourselves. He/she has only discouraging words to offer. We all hear voices in our heads, but we should only pay attention to the encouraging ones.

The following song by Pink has in it a word that some people find offensive. I do not. In one of my favorite movies The Gift a young widowed mom with three boys is asked by her middle son what the word means and she tells him “It is a bad word for something good. It is how me and your dad got you and your brothers.” So “Chillax” and don’t let a “bad” word for something good spoil the song for you. The message despite lying ego or anyone else’s opinion is that you are perfect. That’s right F-ing perfect.
