Faces I Remember

Faces I Remember

One of my favorite Beatle songs is In My Life from their Rubber Soul album which was released December 6, 1965. It is funny how I have been singing along with the Beatles all these years and I got a very important word incorrect. In my mind I substituted faces for places in the first verse and the bridge:

Actually I like faces better than places because I remember faces more easily than names and placed especially those faces that beamed with love for me. I have expanded a section of my daily mantra that I recite religiously. It goes like this:

I go within.

I mirror you.

I admire you.

I worship you.

I adore you.

I love you.

Whether I am talking about God, my neighbor, or myself the MAWAL 5 steps above equally apply. Yes, even the W (worship) like Namaste which means “I bow to the deity in you.”

Another great song expresses what I am trying to say, The Look of Love. The lyrics go: “You’ve got the look of love, it’s in your eyes, the look your smile can’t disguise.”

In a previous blog I wrote about how I practice my look of love in the mirror trying to get my eyes to smile and say “I love you” louder and more unmistakably than mere words.

Want to be an unforgettable face in the crowd, be the person whose eyes are always full of love for everyone. Begin by practicing on yourself in the mirror, then when you believe those smiling eyes, give the world a look at your loving and lovely face.

There are faces I remember. I am sure that you do too.
