Happy Thanksgiving to Family and Friends
Much is made of the lone wolf or self-made man mythology, but it is just that, a myth. No one starts out fully-formed or achieves anything much without help. Truly great men and women know this and so they surround themselves with creative, talented, and hard working people and accomplish far more than one mind with just two sets of hands could ever by themselves.
It is customary at award ceremonies to give thanks and make mention all those who have contributed to one individual receiving the award. Most every achievement is truly a group effort. Abraham Lincoln famously said:

Beginning with our parents we have a lot of people in our lives to be thankful to and for and all that we are or ever hope to be is owed to all those who have contributed so much toward our success and happiness. From that kind old man in the Angels Among Us song to the friend or family member whose smile and kindness encouraged us to keep believing and to keep on going we owe, we owe. But the greatest debt we owe is in the words of the New Testament, “Owe no man anything but to love one another.” Love is the true currency that inflation cannot diminish, nor thieves steal, nor moth, nor rust destroy.
Today, on this day especially dedicated to giving thanks we thank all the family and friends, angels present and those dearly departed, for all the love they have invested into our lives. As you gather with family and friends today remember to give thanks.
Your friend and fellow traveler,
David White
