The Secret To A Successful And A Happy Life

I have given a great deal of thought to this subject for though I am a basically optimistic and positive person I have not always been successful or happy. Rhonda Byrne the author of The Secret has a one word definition of what results in a successful and a happy life. The word is gratitude. One of the New Testament writers boils it down to four words, “In everything, give thanks.”

One of the more successful St. Jude’s Hospitals for Children’s funds drives that launched on Thanksgiving some years ago had a number of celebrities saying that if you have health children, you should “give thanks.” I have a gray sock cap with two words embroiderer on it that St. Jude sold to help promote that particular funds drive. It reads, “Give Thanks.”

The Serenity Prayer has quite a few more words and has been an inspiration to many hoping to overcome addiction and challenges in their lives, but the two word or even one word secret to success and happiness is an even more excellent way. Let us give thanks and be grateful, for it is an attitude of gratitude that turns everything around, instead of allowing everything to get on top of us, gratitude puts us on top of the world, allowing us to see the highest and best in everyone and everything.
