Emma’s Little Teddy Bear
As promised a couple of days ago, pictured above is Emma’s little teddy bear. He or she (I will let Emma decide) measures 52” tall and like Goldilocks famous line I hope Emma will find her T-Bear whatever she decides to call her or him, “Just right.”
Since we have two big rocking chairs, my wife and I decided to give one of them along with the teddy bear to Emma this weekend. Last Saturday I dropped by Emma’s new home with a little rocker that belonged to my dearly departed daughter, Emily Elaine. I mentioned in a previous blog that my son Jay wanted to name Emma, Emily after her first Auntie Em, but since his brother in-law Charles married an Emily and Emma Grace would have another Auntie Em, Jay and Lauren his wife decided to name her Emma instead. Here is a picture of Emma’s rocker that once belonged to our Emily.

T-Bear and Emma will after this weekend be able to rock-out together. I know a certain guardian Angel named Emily who would chuckle at the thought of that. The song “Angels Among Us” comes to mind. One of Emily’s favorite movies and mine and my wife’s is the 1994 version of Angels In The Outfield.
As a loving daddy I always believed my Emily was an angel and as a loving grandpa I recognize Emma Grace is a little angel as well and much as I hope to linger here long enough to watch Emma grow into adulthood I believe angels will always be watching over her and two of those angels are named Jay and Lauren.
Those angels have a wonderful life planned for Emma Grace. I chuckle at the thought of that and even T-Bear is smiling.
Your friend and fellow traveler,
David White
