Bad News?
You might think bad news is not a proper subject for a blog called The Encouraging Word yet did you notice the question mark? The point I intend to try to stress today is encapsulated by a Bible promise that I learned as a boy. It goes like this:
“All things work together for good…” Christians will accuse me of leaving off the qualifier
to which I will point out their obvious erroneous assumption that only they love God and are the called according to his purpose. Is not everyone and everything thing included in the “God who is all in all?” That is a rhetorical question by the way.
Further, all God’s promises are “Yes, Yes” also, but I digress, back to the bad news. There is no bad news for everything that comes to us is intended to serve us in one way or another.
One of my favorite songs, I’m Yours ( linked below). Says it so well that everything that comes to us is so that we can either “win some” or “learn some.” So relax those of you that are waiting for that dreaded telegram or another Great Depression or Civil War to start or just the other shoe to drop. I have nothing but good news for you. And the good news is that you and I, every one of us, has only one of two things coming. Yes, the opportunity to win some or to learn some. Whew, that certainly is certainly a load off.
