The Universe
In George Beverly Shea’s version of the song The Love Of God the last line goes, “Out there beyond the horizon, there’s more, there’s more.” I recall another line I heard as a young man, “Your God is too small.” I believe that God, the Universe is all there is. To me the most meaningful line in all of scripture, in all of literature, is the simple line, “God is all in all.”
When we try to limit the infinite we belittle ourselves. To even suppose that the Creator, our loving and infinite source, plays favorites, is a respecter or persons, has a chosen people is not only an absurdity, but a denial of Who and Whose we truly are.
I am reminded of some lines in my daily mantra that I believe remind of my, of our, true purpose and place in the Universe.
“I go within. I mirror you, I admire you. I adore you. I love you.”
These words describe my relationship to God, to others, and to myself. I always conclude my daily mantra with these words: “I make these and all my intentions for the good of the Universe, myself, and all people everywhere. So be it and it is so. Ah Man and Ah Woman, Aye Women and Amen.”
