She Is A traveler Now

When babies are small and ever so cuddly we cannot wait for them to walk and talk. What is the saying? Be Careful What You Wish For! From that first step they are preparing to venture out into the wide world on their own and from that first word rehearsing their own personal Declaration of Independence.

Oh, and we as parents and grandparents want them to thrive in the world and to be strong and independent, just not so fast. And my how time flies and in retrospect our moments with our children and grandchildren seem so very precious for indeed they are.

My son Jay is a CPA and his wife Lauren is an RN and their daughter, my beloved granddaughter Emma Grace is one going of fifteen. How quickly she will get there will make all our heads spin. She is walking now and no longer wants to be held or carried she just wants to go, go, go. She took her first stroll around Papa and Granny White’s house yesterday. And we realized we need to “child proof” our house again making it more toddler friendly. It took all four of us to keep her safe yesterday and as I remarked to Lauren as Emma wore all four of us out, “It was like herding cats” trying to keep up with Emma.”

Go Emma, Go! I hope she slept well, dreaming of all the travel adventures ahead for her. I know I did.
