Effort

Today the next to last word on the Walkway is Effort, defined as follows:

A recent Note from the Universe, I receive one in my email daily, said, “Intending (expecting) without action (effort) is really just hoping and little ever comes of that.” What really turns on the Universe to make our dreams into our reality is when we season our requests with emotion and action (effort), even the smallest baby step in the direction toward our goal moves heaven and earth to make it so.

I am reminded of a song that I recall first hearing when I was but a boy. The lyrics and the link to the song follow:

Dusty Springfield – Wishin & Hopin 1964

There is some real wisdom in this Burt Bacharach/Dusty Springfield collaboration. You won’t get him, her, or that thing you want by thinkin’ and prayin’, wishin’, and hopin’, or by just planin’, and dreamin’ alone. It will take a little action or effort on your part to prime the pump so to speak or start the process working.

It is a formula that has been proven to work. I leave you with one last cliche on the subject, “Faint heart never won fair lady” or as Dusty sings so sweetly the opposite is also true. Step out on faith today believing that your effort will be respected and rewarded.

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David White
