A Day To Rejoice
One of the great benefits of retirement is that if you want every day can be T.G.I.F. Day (Thank God It’s Friday.) I sincerely believe that maintaining an artist of gratitude is one of the secrets to happiness and fulfillment. I love that last word “fulfillment.” It reminds me of that famous phrase from David’s Twenty-Third Psalm, “My cup runneth over.”
In the extended debate about whether the cup is half full or half empty some act as if someone’s stole their cup, yet I am with that other David and believe that my cup is filled so full it is overflowing. Is not that the life we all want to live – full filled?
If we are not there, how do we get there? By realizing and reminding ourselves that everything that we could ever want or need is already ours and coming to us at just right time and in just the right way from our loving and infinite source. Who is the Lord of Glory, our Loving and Infinite Source? Opinions may differ depending on your religion, yet I believe that the God of the Universe is our highest and best self.
Having discovered my own secret identity some years ago, who and whose I truly am, I can rejoice each day in that knowledge. Also I can say sincerely, Namaste (I bow to the deity in you) or in my own words, “I mirror you, I admire you, I adore you.”
Happy T.G.I.F. Day, every day!
Your friend and fellow traveler and fellow deity,
David White
