A Truly Historic Vote Ahead

There are those in this country who are backward thinking and those who are forward thinking and perhaps an even larger group in the middle that tries to avoid thinking at all. It is that large group in the middle that I appeal to today to think about a truly historic vote ahead. We have a chance to elect the first woman President, the first black woman, and the first Indian woman, in Kamala Harris, former District Attorney of San Francisco, Attorney General of California, U.S. Senator, and current Vice President.

Addressing a group of religious conservatives yesterday Donald Trump said that they need to vote one more time and it would be the last time for in the next four years it would all be handled. I am sure this country could handle another four years of Trump. I, and I hope a vast majority of registered voters, intended to make my vote count this November, not to Make America Great Again (code for make America white again) but to keep us on a forward path of inclusion not exclusion.

I believe Kamala Harris was a wise choice for all the offices of public trust that she has held thus far and that she will do us proud as President of these United States. I expect to see the largest voter turnout in U.S. history as people insure there is no question that we as a nation are not going back but forward. I believe that we have a clear choice to make in this truly historic vote ahead. May the best candidate win and I hope she does by a margin so large no one can doubt the will of the majority has been clearly demonstrated.

The adage “Use it or lose it” applies to the vote as it does other things. Vote while we still can, for progress, for the right to choose, for inclusion not exclusion.
