No Matter What
One of my favorite songs to sing is No Matter What made popular some years ago by the Irish boy band Boyzone. The song is also featured in one of my favorite romantic comedies Notting Hill with Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant. That is probably where I first heard it.

The song begins:
No matter what they tell us
No matter what they do
No matter what they teach us
What we believe is true.
In a time when there are countless religions and such a great divide over what is true we would do well to remember that what we believe is true for us and that we are each responsible for choosing what we believe and for holding on to beliefs that no longer serve us. Instead of digging our heels in and thinking, “I can’t deny what I believe, I can’t be what I’m not” we should rather focus on the next two lines, “I know I’ll love forever, I known no matter what.”
For indeed love is what we were made of and for, not war. War is hell, to quote General William Tecumseh Sherman, and love is the heaven within us to quote Jesus of Nazareth, or as I like to put it:
Love is Who and Whose we are – no matter what.
