You Never Walk Alone
I have a favorite line in The Boy On A Bridge song, and it goes, “And the myth of isolation doesn’t move you anymore.” Ego, the great and only true enemy of our souls, would have us believe that we are alone, weak, and helpless. Nothing could be further from the truth. We are not alone, we are strong, with ever present help in time of trouble.
Don’t believe devil ego’s lies. Many have and have lived lives of hell on earth here in this time and space playground that was intended for our exploration and fun. I had a boss once who said, “This is not a fun place to work is it?” I avoided a direct answer. If I had answered I would have had to say that it could have been a lot more fun, but for his and the efforts of his superiors in trying to make it as difficult as possible for the employees to do their jobs.
Most everyone gets a feeling of satisfaction at getting a job done well. Working together as a team we can accomplish great tasks with no one individual having to shoulder too much of the load. Poor managers pit their employees against one another thinking this is the way to get the most productivity out of them. The result is chaos and the best people soon leave and all that is left are the sycophants, the myopics, and malcontents (the butt-kissers, the clueless, and the complainers.)
We are not alone no matter how hard ego or his minions would try to convinced us that we are with tons of anecdotal evidence. One of my favorite scripture verses says, “You will hear a voice, saying this is the way walk in it.” Now all voices are not to be believed nor trusted, yet with very little practice it is easy to tell the difference between the voices who have our best interest in mind and those who do not.
Even if aliens from outer space never reveal themselves to us still we are not alone.
