Two Shadow Walking Together
The idea for today’s blog came from my loving and lovely wife Linda. Last Saturday we agreed on a standing date to walk together each morning at 5 am or there about. The heat and humidity in south east Texas, not to mention the often ozone alerts in Houston where we live, make it unadvisable to walk when the sun is out, except after a heavy rain cools things off a bit and washed the pollution out of the air.
My Linda has always been fascinated by shadows, me too, and as we walked the street lights and lights in the nearby park we walk through made our shadows’ legs look very long. Like children we stopped to make different poses to see what shapes we could make with our shadows. Linda pointed out that sometimes when the light was angled just right there was a second set of shadows accompanying us on our walk. It was then she said, “Maybe you could write a blog about shadows.”
And so I have and about a few joyful moments on an early morning walk with my wife and our shadows.
Your friend and fellow travelers,
David and Linda
Authors Note: One of my favorite authors, C.S.Lewis, wrote a book about the great love of his life called Surprise By Joy. The joy of his life was his wife Joy Davidson. The joy of mine is Linda Lee Stokes, my wife of almost thirty-five years.

This is how we looked back then when we first started walking together.
