When You Come Back To Me Again
Just when we were prepared to face another hot and humid mostly sweaty and sleepless night our power came back on last night. We were quite surprised as we thought that the large pecan tree that almost one hundred mile an hour straight winds had blown over on the power lines in the empty lot next door would have to be removed before the lines could be energized again.
I posted a picture of the tree leaning against the lines right after the storm but an old power or telephone pole that it was also leaning against gave way a couple of days after the storm and the pecan tree crushed the fence and fell even further down on the power lines. The removal of the tree may make it necessary for the power to be shut off for a few hours again, but that will be much less of a hassle than the three day without it were.
Today’s song, When You Come Back To Me Again, says, “On a prayer, in a song, I hear your voice and it keeps me hangin on.” We felt like that especially at night by candle and flashlight finding our way to earlier than usual bedtime. We take for granted all the things that electrical power make possible us.
I am so glad and grateful to be typing this to you in a cool home on a fully charged and functioning IPhone. Have a wonderful day. We certainly will. I’ll be headed to the grocery store in a few minutes to restock our refrigerator and freezer with all the things that three days without power caused to spoil or to at least be suspect. And I am so happy to be able to do that.
