What Makes You Stay

The above quote is attributed to several great leaders among them Thomas Jefferson, Abraham Lincoln, and Franklin D. Roosevelt. That knot at the end of the rope is the one thing left to hold on to and it is a love we are more afraid of letting go of than falling, something worth holding on to, worth hoping for when all hope is gone.

The poet wrote, “It is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” Yet true love is the great obsession. It never lets go. To love like that and to be loved like that makes everything thing else only peripheral even inconsequential. Big words, Crazy Dave. What I mean to say, plain and simple is what another of my favorite songs says so well:

Hold on to that love knot.
