No Matter What
What matters most is not what other people say or do, but what we believe to be true. Can we get it wrong? Of course we can and I am a firm believer that we should examine our believes often and that we should discard any and all beliefs that are no longer serving us. It is our core beliefs that remind us Who and Whose we truly are.
Some of the most moving lyrics in today’s song are:
“If only prayers were answered (And I believe that they are) then we would hear God say, ‘No matter what they tell you, no matter what they do, no matter what they teach you, what you believe is true. And I will keep you safe and strong and shelter from the storm. No matter where it’s barren, our dream is being born.’”
Real love is always the no matter what kind. As the poet once put it, “Now abide faith, hope, and love but the greatest of these is love.” If we really believe that it ought to show in our lives and show up no matter what the circumstances.
