Nick Of Time

Both my wife Linda Lee and I think of Bonnie Raitt’s 1990 Grammy winning song Nick of Time as our song. It was quite popular the year that our son was born and describes our love story so well. We were both the same age as Bonnie, thirty-nine at the time the song and our baby arrived.

The writer of Ecclesiastes tells us that there is a time and a place for everything. The Byrds’ song Turn! Turn! Turn! concludes with the words:

I am reminded of another promise, “In due season we shall reap if we faint not.” The poet tells us, “Faint heart never won fair lady.”

I am so glad and grateful that everything that I could ever want or need is already mine and coming to me at just the right time (in the nick of time) and in just the right way from my loving and infinite source.
