I Know How To Do It

Self confidence rests on the knowledge that you are equipped for any task at hand. If you knew Who and Whose you truly you would never ever doubt yourself. Today’s song says, “I know how to do it.”

When I was seventeen, I awoke in the middle of the night and composed the following poem. It flowed like I was taking dictation.

He took me down beside the sea

And this is what I saw

He walked the waves and beckoned me

And I was filled with awe.

Stepping forth

I took a step and stood

On the waters out from shore

For he had said I could.

My eyes on him I made my way

Faith my stay became

Fear crept in, I looked away,

And sinking cried his name.

Reaching forth he took my hand

And I sank no more

But with his hand in mine

I walked with him to shore.

Looking down he said,

“Why did you doubt yourself my child?”

My faith restored I raised my head

To see his beaming smile.

We have every right to be confident in every area of our lives. That still small voice that I have heard so often and everyone can if when get still enough to listen says, “You’ve got this, you can do it.”
