How To Handle A Woman

Men and women have so many illusions about relationships and probably the biggest illusion of all is control. By that I mean this business of thinking that we can train or control others to act the way that we want. People are not Pavlov’s dogs and even dogs respond better to love than trickery and manipulation.

It is a persistent myth this illustration of power over others. There is a verse in the Old Testament that says, “Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit says the Lord.” The highest and best in all of us is that spirit of love. And like the last line in Nat King Cole’s Nature Boy, “The greatest thing we’ll ever learn is how to love and be loved in return.”

Today’s song asks the question that has perplexed many a man but few if any women. The way to understand anyone especially a woman is to genuinely love them, love them, love them.
