Come Away With Me

I woke up this morning to the sound of rain falling on the roof and Norah Jones’ sweet song lyric: “I want to wake up with the rain falling on a tin roof” seems so appropriate. Yesterday, I wrote of love knocking at the heart’s door. Sometimes love also comes tapping at the window or on the roof with the dual request, “Let me come in and come away with me.”

“All those who wander are not lost” and all those who are housebound are not at home. The old saying goes, “Home is where the heart is.” Jesus said, “Where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Whether riding on a bus or walking through knee-high grass or kissing on a mountain top, the theme of true love’s song is ever the same, “Come away with me.” Hear it in the rain drops that herald the promise of the rainbow – “I’ll never stop loving you.”
