Close To You
Over fifty years ago, siblings Karen and Richard Carpenter were a sensation with this and many other beautiful love songs. Close To You is a sentiment that all that lovers share in common.
Recognizing that someone else is the person that you want most to be close to and to spend a life time sharing proximity with is indeed the discovery of a lifetime. When relationships are strained it is good to remember what drew us together in the first place and to try to keep that flame alive.
Barry Manilow recorded a song called Keep Each Other Warm. That song and Close To You share a common theme that is also expressed in a Josh Groban song called, You’re Still You:
“And in this cruel (cold) and lonely world I’ve found one love
You’re still you after all
You’re still you.”
Amen, and love’s song is ever, “close to you.”
