Because You Loved Me

In the affairs of the heart some loves touch us deeper than others, some loves transform our lives, and make us want to believe in ourselves, and to be the best that we can be. Abraham Lincoln loved his mother very much and lost her in death when he was just a boy. Many years later he attributed all his success, achievement, and aspiration to his mother in the quote above.

In President Lincoln’s first inaugural address he hoped to prevent a very divided nation from civil war and said:

We are who we are in large degree because of those we choose to love and those we allow to love us. They are the better angels of our nature to whom we owe all that we are and will ever be.
