Angels Among Us
We often find ourselves of two minds, one rational and one emotional. Men they say are from Mars and women from Venus, but the truth is we both come from the same place and though we may at sometimes favor one side of our brain over the other we have have access to intuitive and calculated information.
Today’s song reminds me of an obscure New Testament verse that says, “Many have entertained angels unaware.” Both the Old and New Testaments are full of stories of visiting angels, messengers from a higher realm. We are told that Jesus could have called ten thousand angels to destroy the world and set him free. He said to “the thunder brothers” James and John when they requested permission to call down fire on a town that had rejected his gospel, “You do not know what spirit you are of.”
Avenging angels are popular these days, but I prefer the ones who sing a different song, “Peace on earth good will to all.” President Lincoln implored a nation as divided as our is today to appeal to “Their better angels.”
Whether one is born in a manger, a log cabin, or a penthouse, it is far more important than where you are from or where you were born on which team you decide to play.
The angels are always recruiting new talent.
Your friend and fellow traveler,
David White
