All For Pie, Pie For All

Today I conclude the second posting of all two hundred ninety six of my David Reads Children’s Books recordings. The first July after I began this blog in March of 2015 I posted all thirty-two episodes or chapters of a little book that I wrote about my daughter Emily called Emily, The Little Girl Who Sang Her Song To Anyone Who Came Along. The song title comes from one of Emily’s favor songs by Norah Jones called Seven. Norah turned forty-four this year. Emily would have turned forty-three this year, had she not died eleven years ago. I also posted Emily book the second July.

I awoke this morning thinking I had already concluded the DRCB project’s second posting, wondering what I was going to write about next, and then remembered that I had one more little book to go about pie. We all want our piece of the pie.

There is an order to life, a pecking order as it were, but the rules it seems are only written for a few to make sure they always get the biggest slice of the pie. I heard someone say that they believed that greed would be the thing that ends us. It is one of the seven deadly sins.

As I thought of posting this last story for the second time I thought of the many songs that I have recorded my karaoke version of, including seven by Norah Jones. I will post a link to it today. And tomorrow I will begin posting them all in alphabetical order, using each songs as a theme for each blog, This is how I intend to close out 2023 and take us well into 2024.
