My Dad Is Great

I love today’s little book. There are little joys in life, if any, greater than being thought great in your child’s eyes. Both beauty and greatness are in the eyes of the beholder it would seem.

Eleven years ago and five days short of five months I lost my number one fan, my beloved daughter Emily Elaine White. I have shared much about Emily in these daily love letters because she taught me much about life and love. For all my faults and shortcomings, I am a far better man than I would have been had Emily not been a part of my life.

She made me want to be a great dad. My son Jonathan became a dad four months ago and when I see him with Emma Grace. I know he is a great dad and I am proud. Emma is already expanding his heart and making him a better man. Her eyes are already saying “ I love you, Daddy. And My Dad Is Great.”
