Meet Samantha 1904 – Chapter 6 & Looking Back to 1904
Today I conclude the American Girl story of Samantha 1904. Yesterday I heard a great line: “Our job is to live every day as if it were our last for one day we will be right.” In this time and space illusion, time is always running out. I believe that we are forever spirits, but these bodies that we inhabit have a time limit, a use by expiration date. Carpe diem or seize the day is a good motto to live by.
Nineteen O four was forty six years before I began this adventure, nineteen years before my dad began his, and twenty seven years before my mom began hers. The spirits of my dad and mom left their bodies over twenty years ago now and I am still making the most of each day left to me on this journey of a life time. I have said good-bye to many family members, loved ones, and friends in my seventy-three years full of todays.
Today is a run off Election Day in Houston, Texas and we still need to pick a new mayor. I intend to go exercise my franchise in a few hours. What we do with our time, our vote, our hearts, minds, and hands may seem inconsequential to some, but it is far from it for I believe we create a heaven or a hell for ourselves and others with our thoughts, words, and deeds in this time and this space construct.
A friend of mine, Mike Dooley, says, “Thoughts become things. Choose the good ones.” I believe that our thoughts determine our words and our deeds and so I encourage myself and everyone to choose the highest and best.”
Carpe diem!
Your friend and fellow traveler,
David White
