A Wrinkle In Time – Chapter 9

Happy Thanksgiving, dear readers. I hope whether or not this is a holiday tradition or not for you wherever you are in the wide world that each us today will spend a few glad and grateful moments numbering the things that we are most thankful for:

For family and friends, for food and shelter, for clothing, for work, for health, wealth, and happiness. Sadly we spend so much time thinking about what we are not grateful for that we forget the good things that are ours.

It is the worst of habits to focus on what we do not want for that only draws more of the same into our lives. What manifests in our lives is what we think about and talk about most. For this reason one of the key thoughts that I express in my daily mantra is:

“May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in my sight. O Lord, my strength, my rock, and my redeemer.”

You may be thinking that I got that a bit wrong making the “Thy sight” into “my sight.” Did I? I happen to believe that I am the captain of my soul, my strength, my rock, and my redeemer.

Happy is the person who does not condemn themselves. Inventing another god to forgive you will not redeeming you if you cannot forgive yourself.

Even the Lord’s Prayer says “forgive us our transgressions as we forgive those who transgress against us.” I believe our greatest transgressions are the sins we commit against ourselves, not loving ourselves being the greatest transgression of all.

Today on this day called Thanksgiving. I am most glad, most grateful, and most thankful for me and it follows as day does night that loving myself makes me evermore able to love, to appreciate, and to be thankful for you.

Your friend and fellow traveler,

David White
