Charlotte’s Web – Chapter 10
Today’s Chapter recounts how a mischievous boy’s encounter with a rotten egg saves Charlotte in the nick of time so that she can begin executing her plan to fool Mister Zuckerman and save Wilbur’s life. Charlotte had learned from experience to patiently wait for a fly or other bug to be trapped in her web and knew that if she thought long and hard enough an idea would come to her and a really good one has.
And what a brilliant idea it is. Tomorrow in Chapter 11 we learn what came to Charlotte and why the title of this book is not Wilbur’s Story but Charlotte’s Web. The wise proverb says, “All good thing come to him (her/them) who wait.” I believe that everything that I could every want or need is already mine and coming to me at just the right time and in just the right way from my loving and infinite source. This belief helps me to look for the gift in everything that comes my way and to see that even perceived enemies and strangers may reveal themselves to be angels in disguise.
