Charlotte’s Web – Chapter 5
Today Wilbur meets his best and truest friend. Her name is Charlotte and she is a spider hence the books title, Charlotte’s Web. Wilber at first thinks Charlotte unkind for her habit of trapping insects in her web so she can drink their blood, but Wilber will soon discover that in spite of her bloodthirsty dining preferences she is a very kind soul.
Charlotte will teach Wilbur many things for she is not just clever, but very kind. Good friends are always full of lifesaving and life-enhancing advice. And above all things Charlotte’s proves herself a very good friend to Wilbur.
It is my hope and E.B. White’s that as you read or listen to Charlotte’s Web that you will be reminded of the dear friends you have known and are yet to know and that you will follow Charlotte’s example and be the best kind of friend yourself.
