The Wonderful Wizard of Oz – Chapter 15
Away To The South is the title of today’s chapter. Many migratory birds “head south” for the winter as do many retirees fleeing the far colder winters up north. Another more disparaging saying regarding the South is the expression that denotes a worsening of the situation when the best laid plans “go south.”
I was born, grew up, went to school and have lived by far the most of my life “down south.”
After conferring with the new king of Oz, the Scarecrow, and asking him to put his bran-new sharper brain to work the conclusion is reached that Dorothy’s best chance of getting home involves a dangerous road trip south to see Glenda the good witch and ask her advice.
I do love a road trip and can hear Willie and his band singing “On The Road Again.” Also Nora Jones singing “Come Away With Me.”
