It Is Time To Go To Sleep
Today is the last of the Noodle Tales. I thought yesterday’s was and originally posted that but realized my error when I began this blog so first I corrected yesterday’s blog to read “next to the last Noodle Tale” instead of “last Noodle Tale.” Correcting and re-writing are a big part of writing and though I try to catch every error factual, grammar, or spelling, before I post I am far from perfect. These blogs are, as their author, a work in process. When I originally read and recorded these children’s books for my Wisconsin friend Deb’s granddaughter Amelia she was a new kid on the block like my granddaughter Emma Grace who celebrated her one month birthday day yesterday.
I texted Jay and Lauren yesterday to asked them to tell Emma “Happy One Month Birthday”for me. She does not have a cell phone yet. Lauren sent me this picture of the birthday girl. I sent it to several people including Deb. She shares them with Amelia who calls Emma her Texas Baby. Yesterday was Amelia’s first day in PreK and Deb sent me her picture as well.

When I read and recorded the Children’s book I tried to get them as error free as possible, in some cases re-recording several times, but as listeners are aware they are far from error free as am I. As a speaker I have become more tolerant of my own and others gaffs. Amelia and Emma Grace won’t mind the flubbed lines nor will the children you read to. They are interested more in the story than a perfect presentation. If we wait till we get it perfect we won’t attempt very much in life. The best works are always a work in progress. We and they get better by trial and error.
These Noodle Tales as explained in the Epilogue today have evolved from telling and retelling them over the years. Great tales always do.
The pictures of two lovelies above reminded me of a line in a favorite song, “There was a girl.” Franks sings it so well. He practiced and performed a lot to get that good.
