Grandpa Buys A Pumpkin Egg

Today is the next to the last and the longest of the Noodle Tales. One does not have to use their noodle very hard to realize that these silly tales are meant to lighten and brighten our days. Like many of my generation, I spend a few moments each morning reading the latest news. The news is seldom if ever all that encouraging. Even the New Testament which purports to be “The Good News” begins with a mad king killing baby boys trying to prevent the rise of a new king of the Jews and ends with tales a reign of terror called the Apocalypse.

Almost eight and a half years ago I began this little blog that I called the encouraging word and still do because I wanted and still do to offer a more encouraging take on life. You see I genuinely believe that life is meant to be good and that thinking only on the tragedies, wars, and crimes only causes us to see more of the same. The Apostle Paul, often quite a downer himself, wrote to some church friends once encouraging them to think on the good things, probably some of his best advice. Thinking only about sad, bad, and not glad things tends to make us worry more. And friends that is no way to live.

In the words of today’s song, one of my favorites, “Don’t worry, be happy!”
